The African Leadership Group (ALG) is an established 16-year-old Colorado nonprofit created to serve and improve the quality of life of the African immigrant community. We do this through social, education and economic programs such as youth empowerment, public speaking and leadership classes reaching thousands of individuals. Every year during the month of August, we host a major community event, Afrik Impact, to celebrate loudly and proudly the impact African immigrants have in the state of Colorado.
During our 2021 Afrik Impact celebration, we were both proud and honored to have the Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, issue an honorary proclamation establishing the month of August as African Immigrant Month in the state of Colorado.
